Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a confidential and collaborate process between therapist and client. Therapy is a safe, judgment free space that allows for healing to occur and insight to be gained. We will explore thoughts, behaviors and emotions. Individual therapy can address a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, grief, relationship issues, work issues, trauma, life challenges, self-esteem, life transitions, etc. We will identify your needs, set goals and move at your pace.

EMDR

(Eye Movement Desensitization &  Reprocessing)

EMDR is an evidence-based treatment used to help people heal from trauma and distressing memories. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to assist the brain in releasing the emotional responses to traumatic memories. After fully processing a memory, the memory remains but the emotional response to the memory diminishes. EMDR can be used to not only treat trauma, but also, anxiety, grief, PTSD symptoms, and other trauma issues.  EMDR does not require you to describe the trauma that you have experienced and, in fact, we don't need details to process.  Research has shown that EMDR works more quickly than talk therapy.

Couples Therapy

Let's be honest, relationships are hard sometimes. Occasionally, couples need a little guidance in how to resolve conflict, improve communication and become more emotionally connected. I do not pick sides as the couple, as a whole, is my client. I do not tell couples how to resolve the conflict but, instead, give couples the tools to resolve conflict themselves. I am Gottman trained which is an evidence-based approach that is extremely successful in identifying negative relationship patterns, improving communication and learning to be a better team.

CBT

(Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)

CBT is an evidence-based modality used in talk therapy.  CBT focuses on the links between thoughts, feelings and behaviors.  CBT involves discovering negative thinking patterns, thought restructuring, increasing positive behaviors, relaxation techniques, problem solving, and mindfulness. CBT is very effective in treating anxiety, depression, life stressors, mood disorders, and more. CBT focuses more on the present to learn to manage current issues instead of focusing solely on the past.

Trauma  Therapy

Trauma therapy is a from of therapy used to heal from emotional and psychological trauma. I often hear people say, "There are people out there who have experienced way worse". Well, our brains don't know the types of trauma that we experience; brains only know that it's trauma. I ensure that my clients feel safe and connected through the therapeutic process.  I empower my clients to develop healthy coping skills and move toward healing and recovery. I have found EMDR to be extremely effective in treating trauma. However, I will meet you where you are and use a modality that fits your needs.

ACT

(Acceptance & Commitment Therapy)

ACT is an evidence-based practice that teaches clients to be present and accept difficult thoughts and feelings. ACT does not teach you how to decrease negative thoughts and feelings, but instead, guides you in learning how to accept them.  ACT is rooted in mindfulness that keeps you in the present moment.  Engaging in ACT will help you be more flexible and adaptable, stop avoiding difficult challenges, and take action that aligns with your value system.  ACT is effective in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, and other life stress.
